This weeks' photo. Lioness in Livingstone.

My good friend Ross gave me some welcome advice on how to make my blog more attractive and interesting. He is an experienced blogger from Scotland, currently travelling and always writing (click here to check his blog) and his was advice was NOT to put up more photo's featuring my self ;-) He does know my photography and adventures pretty well though so he told me I should at least once every week post a new photo... so here goes!

This one was taken in Livingstone, Zambia, right next to Mosi O Tunya, The Smoke That Thunders, the local name for the Victoria Falls. Of course they were named after the Late Queen of England by Dr. Livingstone, some 150 years ago, whose statue can be found at the entrance to both the Zambian and the Zimbabwen National Park of the waterfalls. More about these falls and what you should and should not do here in my other post or page.

The Lioness is about one year old and already you can feel her strength. She is one of a group of three girls and one boy that are available for tourists to take out on a walk. They play around, run around, do some fake attacks and are fantastic to watch from up close and personal. Besides more obvious thrills to be had at the Vic Falls, like rafting, bungee jumping and helicopter flights over the falls, this is definitely one of my favourites. And it sure makes for cool pictures!

Take off: New World Adventures dot One

The adventure has started. Time to write.

Welcome to my first blog in English. Here for you, to share my adventures in this ever evolving world. In my home base Amsterdam where there is so much fun to be had. Or around the world. During my job as a tourguide / tourleader or when I am taking my chances to catch the spirit in photographs.

Keep on reading. I will be posting regularly. Expect some unexpected adventures. Feed me back and influence the style and pace. Are you interested in my Desert Adventures? Let me know, I got a few. Or wondering what goes in the nightlife of Rio, Havana, Capetown or Casablanca? Want to know what Himba girls do after dark? Where to catch the boat to Angkor Wat? How Cambodians celebrate Christmas? Best and worst inter-cultural pick up lines? How to fret a Lion? Why you shouldn't have a bad stomach in the Etosha National Park? Or mess with South African policemen? The best restaurant of Mombasa or my favorite Casa Particular in Trinidad de Cuba? I have been around. Capturing stories and moments. Don't know where to start or how to stop.

Be my guest. Feel free to ask.

Vinschutte - currently in Amsterdam.
